Jo Jo Nichols

A thirty-one year veteran of Broken Arrow Schools, Jo Jo Nichols prior to her retirement in 2016 served as the district’s secondary theatre coordinator and was the head of the Broken Arrow High School Theatre Department. Having won four state one-act championships and a trip to the 2000 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, her drama students earned a statewide and national reputation for excellence. Jo Jo was chosen as Broken Arrow District’s Teacher of the Year in 1999 and was among the top twelve finalists for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.

Additionally, she served for seven years as a theatre teacher for the Tulsa SummerArts program and as a guest director for Theatre Arts Children’s Theatre, Theatre Tulsa, and the Oklahoma Sinfonia. Miss Jo Jo attended Oklahoma State University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theatre.
